Prof. David Lazer and Steve Kropper have been important advisors. In fact, David sparked the invention by explaining to Jeremy the privacy problem, and by commenting that cellphone companies' most valuable asset was information. Steve helped Jeremy figure out how to explain the invention to businesspeople, and by establishing that cellphone carriers would be willing to provide location data, if the compensation was sufficient.

Jeremy earned a PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan, where he received excellent training in research methods from M. Kent Jennings, Don Herzog, Robert Axelrod, and others.
